Becca's egg project

Becca's assignment in her science class was to build a contraption that would protect an egg when dropped off the roof of the school. My friend Carrie volunteered her husband Mark to help. They tried a few different things using tissue paper, 44 oz cups, boxes and gift bags, but Mark finally found the greatest idea of all on the internet. He put rice krispies in a Dora the Explorer sippy cup with the egg in the middle and then taped the lid on. It was amazing. He would throw it up into the air and it would hit the pavement, but the egg would not break. The rice krispies would need to be changed each time he did it because they would pretty much turn into powder, but the egg was fine! Mark is now our official weird homework assignments helper. Hopefully we will not see a for sale sign in front of his house when he finds out!!
(P.S. for some reason that we can't explain the only time it broke was when her teacher tried it at school. Go figure!!)

Yay! You fixed your comments... :) I never had to do that egg project in school. I thought everyone did, so I don't know how I got out of it. Too bad it broke at school!

It is because teachers have magical powers. HAHA Great use of a sippy cup. Lizzie hates them and would happily donate some to more homework projects.

Mark is still a little bitter about the fact it broke. (We don't talk about it around here.) We had fun helping and look forward to the next experiment.

Hey, it was fun to see Dave's (wife's) blog. It is fun to see what you guys are doing. I hear about you guys every now and then. It is fun to see your kids. I looked at your daughter and said "wow, that looks like Tamara's kid". She looks just like I remember you. Funny. How are you guys? How is everything? Thanks for the blog. It was fun to hear from you. Your kids are about the same ages as mine. Welcome to blogging. It is fun.
