The Jazz Game

For Christmas Devin got tickets to see his favorite NBA player Lebron James play against the Jazz. As luck would have it Santa brought Mike's boys the same thing! Thanks to the Vader's Devin was able to spend the third quarter 15 rows up from the floor so he could see Lebron up close. (Thanks Carrie for trading him places!) Even though the Jazz ended up losing it was a very fun evening! Here is a picture of Devin, Mike, and his boys, Preston and Koleton.

Sledding

We went sledding at Soldier Hollow in Midway. It is a blast and requires very little energy since they pull you up the hill. It ended up raining (actually pouring) on us the whole time we were there. By the time we were done I thought I was going to freeze to death. Check out the look of terror on Megan's face. It's priceless! After we finished we went to eat at the Dairy Keen in Heber City.

Megan's baptism

I can't believe my baby got baptized on Saturday! It was such a special day and I am so proud of her. She looked like an angel in her white dress. She was baptized by my brother Carl and confirmed by Eric's brother Al.

The Lion House

We went to the Lion house for Megan's 8th birthday party. They were taken on a tour of the Lion house and told stories about Brigham Young and his 56 children. (Holy cow!!) They played pioneer games like button button and hiding a thimble and then pulled taffy. It was then time for a tea party, cake and ice cream and opening presents. Megan then got to pick out a glass doll. She had a blast and would love to go back again.

Christmas day

Santa found the Yost house this year! I was worried that he might just leave coal, but the kids must have been being good anytime the elves were watching because they all got what they wanted. It was a really fun day. We even had a fun time playing games using our camping lanterns when the power went out.

Christmas eve

On Christmas eve we had some of my family over for dinner. We ate, played games and opened presents from the cousins. The kids also opened up their new Christmas jammies. It was a very fun night.

Christmas Traditions

For the past 6 years we have had a tradition every Christmas where we go to the mall to see Santa, eat at the Mayan and each of the kids gets to pick out a new ornament for the tree. The Saturday before Christmas we finally got around to doing this. We got to the mall just after they had closed the line for Santa so that he could go to lunch so we decided to go eat first. After eating at the Mayan and remembering how yucky the food is there we decided to find a new place to eat next year. We also took a vote and no one wanted to face the crowded mall again so no family picture with Santa this year. I guess we will have to come up with a new tradition next year. The kids did each get to pick out their new ornament. Devin found a Simpsons one, Megan chose a camp rock ornament and Becca found a lovely :( green bird. She chose it just because she thought it was really ugly. (teenagers!!)
